As in 2016, the Hamburg Ballet is traveling around the globe on its winter tour: with stops in Chicago and Tokyo. As part of the company's 13th US guest performance, John Neumeier returns to his first performance venue as a professional dancer. With "The Glass Menagerie" after Tennessee Williams, he presents his ballet version of this modern American drama classic. In Tokyo, the ballet gala "The World of John Neumeier" and the ballet "Sylvia" are on the program. In January, a guest performance is additionally planned at the Teatro la Fenice in Venice. The Hamburg Ballet performed there under the direction of John Neumeier as early as 1974, and 50 years later the circle is complete.
The Hamburg Ballet will also be represented at the festival 2023 premiere of "The World of John Neumeier" in Baden-Baden again with two productions and a ballet workshop.
